01Who we are
Pixy Studio (“Pixy”, “we”, “us”) is an independent mobile game studio based in Portugal. We are the data controller for the personal data described in this policy.
You can reach us about anything in this document at support@pixy.pt.
02What this policy covers
This policy applies to:
- our mobile games, Block Placer (pt.pixy.blockplacer), Blocco (pt.pixy.blocco), Tris (pt.pixy.tris), Ninfea (pt.pixy.ninfea), Talpa (pt.pixy.talpa), Coppia (pt.pixy.coppia), Tonfo (pt.pixy.tonfo), The Wheel (pt.pixy.thewheel), on Google Play and the Apple App Store; and
- this website.
It does not cover the app stores themselves, or any third-party service you reach by following a link out of a game. Those have their own policies.
You do not need an account to play any Pixy game. We do not ask for your name, your email address, or your date of birth. If you never contact us and never sign in to a leaderboard, we never learn who you are.
03What is collected
Stays on your device
Your game progress lives on your phone and nowhere else. That includes your high scores, the state of an unfinished run, your sound and music settings, and whether you have seen a tutorial. We cannot read it, and uninstalling the game deletes it.
Collected automatically by the game
Our games embed third-party SDKs for advertising, analytics and crash reporting. Through them, the following may be collected:
- Device and advertising identifiers. The Google Advertising ID (Android) or the Identifier for Advertisers / IDFA (iOS), and a per-install identifier.
- Device and app information. Device model, operating system version, language, country or region, screen size, app version and network type.
- IP address. Used by our providers to infer approximate (country- or city-level) location and to prevent fraud. We do not collect GPS or precise location.
- Gameplay and app events. Session starts and lengths, levels or scores reached, buttons pressed, ads shown and whether they were watched.
- Diagnostics. Crash reports and error logs.
Given by you
If you email support, we receive your email address and whatever you put in the message. If you sign in to Google Play Games Services or Game Center, that platform tells the game your player identifier and display name so leaderboards and achievements work.
This website
This site sets no advertising or analytics cookies. It is a set of static pages served by Vercel, our hosting provider, which keeps standard server logs (including IP address) for security and operations. See Vercel’s privacy policy.
04Why we collect it, and our legal basis
| Purpose | Legal basis (GDPR Art. 6) |
|---|---|
| Running the game and saving your progress | Performance of a contract, since you asked us for the game |
| Personalised advertising and measurement of advertising performance | Your consent, given in the form shown on first launch, and withdrawable at any time |
| Non-personalised (contextual) advertising | Legitimate interest in funding a free game, where local law permits; consent where it is required |
| Aggregate analytics, crash reporting and abuse prevention | Legitimate interest in a game that works and is not being defrauded |
| Answering your support email | Legitimate interest in replying to you |
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use it to build profiles for anyone outside the advertising purposes described above.
05Advertising and your choices
Our games are free and paid for by advertising. Before any advertising SDK is started, the game shows you a consent form from Google’s User Messaging Platform. This is not decoration: the ad networks are not initialised until you have answered it.
On iOS, after that form, the system App Tracking Transparency prompt asks separately whether the app may track you across other companies’ apps and websites. Declining either one is respected. You will still get ads, but they will be non-personalised, and the game itself is unchanged.
Changing your mind
- In the game. Open Settings and choose the privacy or consent option to reopen the form.
- Android. Settings → Google → Ads, where you can delete or reset your advertising ID.
- iOS. Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
06Who else receives data
Each provider below is an independent controller or our processor for the data it receives, and each has its own privacy policy, linked below and worth reading if you want the detail of what they do with it.
| Provider | What it does | In which games |
|---|---|---|
| Adjust | Measures which advert or link led to an install, so marketing spend can be attributed. | Block Placer, Blocco, Tris, Talpa, Coppia, Tonfo, The Wheel |
| AppLovin MAX | Ad mediation, choosing which ad network fills a given ad slot. | The Wheel |
| ByteBrew | Aggregate gameplay and monetisation analytics. | The Wheel |
| Firebase (Analytics & Remote Config) | Aggregate usage analytics, and remote configuration so game tuning can change without an update. | The Wheel |
| GameAnalytics | Aggregate gameplay statistics: levels reached, sessions, crashes. | Block Placer, Blocco, Tris, Ninfea, Talpa, Coppia, Tonfo, The Wheel |
| Google AdMob | Serves the interstitial, rewarded and banner ads that fund the game. | Block Placer, Blocco, Tris, Ninfea, Talpa, Coppia, Tonfo |
| Google Play Games Services | Optional sign-in for leaderboards and achievements. Declining it does not limit the game. | Block Placer, Blocco, Ninfea, Tonfo |
| Google User Messaging Platform | Shows the consent form on first launch and records your advertising choices. | Block Placer, Blocco, Tris, Ninfea, Talpa, Coppia, Tonfo |
| Meta App Events | Measures installs and events attributed to Facebook and Instagram ads. | The Wheel |
We also share data with our hosting provider (Vercel) for this website, and with Google or Apple when you use platform features such as leaderboards.
07International transfers
Several of our providers are based in, or process data in, the United States and other countries outside the European Economic Area. Where that happens, the transfer relies on the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses, an adequacy decision (such as the EU–US Data Privacy Framework), or another lawful transfer mechanism operated by that provider.
08How long it is kept
- On-device data. Kept until you delete the app or clear its data. Entirely under your control.
- Analytics and advertising data. Kept by each provider under its own retention schedule, typically between 2 and 26 months for event-level data.
- Support email. Up to 24 months after the conversation ends, so we can recognise a repeat report.
09Your rights
If you are in the EEA or the UK, the GDPR gives you the right to access, correct, erase, restrict or object to our processing of your personal data, and the right to receive it in a portable format. Where we rely on consent, you may withdraw it at any time, which does not affect anything done before you did.
To exercise any of these, email support@pixy.pt. Because we hold no account for you, please include your device’s advertising identifier and the name of the game, or we will not be able to find the records in question. We answer within 30 days.
There is a step-by-step version of this on our data deletion page.
If you think we have handled your data badly, you may complain to your local supervisory authority. In Portugal that is the Comissão Nacional de Proteção de Dados (CNPD). We would rather you told us first.
10Children
Our games are rated for general audiences but they are not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age where you live), and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them.
If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal data, email support@pixy.pt and we will delete it.
11Security
Data in transit is encrypted with TLS. We hold no player database and no password of yours, which removes most of what there is to steal. Our providers maintain their own security programmes. No system is perfectly secure, and we will not pretend otherwise.
12Changes to this policy
When this policy changes materially we update the “last updated” date at the top and, where the change affects how your data is used, surface a notice in the affected game. Continuing to play after a change means you accept the updated policy.
