Ninfea

Puzzle · Everyone / 4+

One frog per row, per column, per pond.

A Queens-style logic puzzle wearing a pond. Place one frog in every row, every column and every lily pond, and never let two of them touch, diagonals included. Every board has exactly one answer, and you can always reason your way to it.

The long version

Ninfea is Italian for water lily, and the theme is load-bearing rather than decorative. “One frog per pond” is a rule that explains itself the moment you look at the board; “one piece per coloured region” is a rule somebody has to tell you.

Every puzzle is generated against a solver that proves two things before the board is allowed to ship: that the solution is unique, and that a person can reach it by reasoning alone. You will never be asked to guess and back out.

There is a new board every day, the same one for everybody, forever. Behind it sit a ladder of levels, difficulty packs, and an endless ramp that keeps climbing as long as you do.

A board a day

One daily puzzle, identical for every player, generated from the date itself.

No guessing, ever

Each board is checked to have exactly one solution reachable by logic alone.

Levels, packs and endless

A ladder to work through, difficulty packs to pick from, and a ramp with no top.

Readable without colour

Ponds carry a heavy outline and a tone step as well as a hue, so the rules survive colour blindness and a greyscale screen.
